My sisters and I love to cook. Not only do we love to cook, but we love to talk about it and share recipes. This sharing is not always easy because I live in Connecticut, Mary lives in Wisconsin, Jeanne has been living near Munich, Germany for over 20 years and Margaret lives in New York.
When I was sick last year with breast cancer, they all came to visit (unfortunately at different times) and cooked for me. This was in addition to lots of other help and emotional support.
It was the best - both for me and for them...pannacotta anyone?
Now that I am getting back to normal...we decided it might be fun to continue our cooking together using the virtual tools at our disposal...blogs, skype, email etc.
The plan is to cook the same dinners - one Sunday a month. Each of us will take turns choosing the menu and sending off the recipe to each other. This will either be a favorite recipe of ours (that we know the others have never tried) or a new recipe that looks interesting. We all have a few recipe favorites of our Mom around and we hope to include some of those. Of course, there is a right of refusal. If one of the other sisters does not want to try that menu then the posting sister has to come up with a new one.
We plan to post pictures of what each final product looked like. Although for my non-tech sister (Mary), we may have to employ her 15 year old son to take care of that for her.
We will be picking a starting date soon.
